Hannah Diaz, LGPC

Hi! I am Hannah Diaz and I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in Maryland under the supervision of Stephany Ponciano, LCPC. I earned my B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Educational Studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hood College. I also earned a certificate in Thanatology, which is the study of death and dying.

During my time at Hood College, I completed my internship at Playful Therapy Connections and worked with many children, adolescents, and parents. I worked with clients to help them navigate autistic experiences, anxiety, ADHD, anger, and grief. I was able to empower my clients and see their confidence grow through play therapy. I also worked with young adults at the Neighborhood Counseling Training Center, where I worked with individuals navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, and grief.

I take an eclectic approach to therapy, using approaches from person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, strength-based, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I strive to help clients challenge their anxious or depressive thoughts and discover coping strategies that work for them. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and sex-positive. I am passionate about working with young adults and adults and have experience working with clients on anxiety, depression, stress, OCD, relationship issues, trauma, and grief.
