Makenna Rodriguez, LGPC-Intern

Hello!

I'm Makenna, and I am an intern counselor under the supervision of Stephany Ponciano, LCPC. I am a Graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling Student at Messiah University, where I also completed my undergraduate degree in Human Development & Family Science with a minor in Pre-Counseling and Therapy.

I utilize a strengths-based, eclectic approach to counseling, drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Gestalt to meet your unique goals. I thrive on building authentic connections and empowering individuals as they navigate the ups and downs that life may bring. My approach is rooted in compassion, humility, and cultural sensitivity, ensuring that each person I work with feels truly heard and supported. Outside of my work, I enjoy baking, spending time with family, and here's a fun fact: I used to be a competitive figure skater and still love getting on the rink from time to time!

As Brené Brown wisely states, "Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it's having the courage to show up and be seen…" This idea resonates deeply with me, and I hope it encourages you to take the courageous step of showing up for yourself in our work together. I look forward to meeting you!
