Ingrid Ponciano, LCMFT Founder & Chief Executive Officer | Vertex Counseling and Wellness
Ingrid Ponciano is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Vertex Counseling and Wellness, a group practice dedicated to delivering exceptional, person-centered mental health services to the Montgomery County, Maryland community. In her current role, Mrs. Ponciano leads the strategic vision, operational direction, and clinical culture of the practice - ensuring that every client who walks through the doors of Vertex receives the highest standard of care.
Mrs. Ponciano holds a Master's degree in Couples and Family Therapy from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Maryland and holds an approved supervisor designation, through which she has mentored and trained interns in mental health counseling and art therapy.
Her career spans community mental health, university counseling, and private practice - experience that informs her deep understanding of what effective, accessible, and compassionate care looks like at every level. Prior to founding Vertex, she built and operated a private practice in Kansas, where she served individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of clinical presentations. This firsthand experience as a clinician drives the standards she sets for her team today.
As CEO, Mrs. Ponciano is committed to building a practice where evidence-based treatment is not just a standard - it is a culture. She leads a team of skilled clinicians who specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, and life transitions, utilizing approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and exposure-based strategies. Her leadership prioritizes continuous growth, clinical excellence, and an environment where both clients and clinicians can thrive.
Mrs. Ponciano's vision for Vertex Counseling and Wellness is simple: to close the gap between people who need mental health support and the high-quality, compassionate care they deserve.
Mrs. Ponciano is not accepting new clients at this time.
